Job Overview

We are seeking both a Full-Time and Part-Time Optical Assistant to join our team.

Previous experience in an UK optical practice is essential, two years minimum.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the optometrist and colleagues in providing exceptional eye care services. This position requires a strong understanding of how the GOS/NHS works as well as excellent interpersonal skills to assist patients effectively.

Duties

Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and explaining procedures.

Conduct preliminary tests, including measuring pressures, auto-refraction and performing initial assessments.

Maintain the practice appearance, frame stock, update patient records

Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, while ensuring accuracy in prescriptions.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient enquiries and concerns.

Keep accurate records of patient information, making appointments and diary management.

Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow within the practice.

Experience:

Previous experience in an UK optical practice is essential, two years minimum.

Excellent knowledge of frame selection and adjustments

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential.

A keen attention to detail and organisational skills are necessary for managing the day to day running of the practice.
