We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Optical Assistant to join our team. As an Optical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them with their eyewear needs, scheduling appointments, and supporting the clinical team in delivering excellent eye care services.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone.
Assist customers in selecting suitable frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and preferences.
Provide advice on lens options including single vision, bifocal, varifocal, and coatings.
Take accurate frame and lens measurements, and ensure proper fitting and adjustments. Process orders and maintain accurate patient records using practice management systems.
Handle payments, issue receipts, and manage till operations.
Manage stock levels of frames, lenses, and accessories, and assist with merchandising.
Ensure the store and displays are clean, organized, and presentable.
Manage and create social media content for facebook / instagram.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
Previous experience in optical retail or customer service preferred, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
Comfortable using computers and point-of-sale systems.
Willingness to learn and undertake training in optical products and procedures.

This post is for Maternity Cover and will commence after the July Holidays for a period of up to 12 months.
