Optical Lab Technician - Cambuslang, Glasgow, Scotland

I have an opportunity for an experienced Optical Lab Technician working for a leading Optical Domiciliary Company who are a provider of eyecare throughout the UK at their Optical Lab in Cambuslang, Glasgow; you will be part of a team responsible for the manufacturing lenses for spectacles.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
" To be multiskilled in all aspects of the production line.
" Importing orders.
" Engraving glasses.
" Sending orders to 3rd party suppliers
" Booking in orders from 3rd party suppliers
" Dealing with queries from branch partners.
" Safely operating glazing and surfacing machinery.
" To surface and glaze glasses to comply with British Standards.
" Picking Lenses
" Picking Frames
" Fitting Glasses
" Surfacing Bifocals, Varifocal and Special Single Vision Lenses.
" Focimetry of lenses.
" Final quality checking.
" Understand and interpret prescriptions to ensure customer received best lens choice.
" Dealing with customer queries regarding prescriptions, resolving any complaints in an efficient and professional manner.

Qualifications and Skills
" Good working knowledge of computer software\'s and operation.
" Glazing experience essential.
" Prior production and surfacing experience preferred
" Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
" Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety in a production environment.
