We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of visual and ocular conditions. Duties
Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and ocular health using specialised equipment.
Diagnose and manage a range of eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses or medical treatments as appropriate.
Provide personalised advice on eye health, vision correction options, and lifestyle adjustments.
Assist patients with selecting suitable spectacles or contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and comfort.
Monitor and manage ocular health in senior patients, addressing age-related visual issues with specialised care.
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
Stay informed about advances in optometry practices, technology, and treatments through continuous professional development.
Requirements
Fully qualified Optometrist with registration with the General Optical Council (GOC).
Proven experience in patient care, with a strong emphasis on accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
In-depth knowledge of human anatomy related to the eye and visual system.
Experience or interest in senior care is highly desirable, demonstrating sensitivity to age-related ocular conditions.
Excellent communication skills to explain complex information clearly to patients of all ages.
Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
