Reports to: Clinical Performance Lead & Clinical Director
Location: Central Support, & Leightons branch Network
Role Purpose
To drive the growth and development of Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians and Contact Lens Opticians Optical and Hearing Assistants across the Leightons Group, enabling the delivery of exceptional customer care and achievement of commercial objectives. This role supports clinical colleagues in meeting daily clinical intervention targets, conversion goals, and care standards.
Key Responsibilities
Champion the enhancement of optometric performance across all Leightons practices.
Provide tailored one-to-one and group coaching for Optometrists and Contact Lens Opticians.
Model best practices in clinical care to ensure achievement of KPIs, MyLeightons conversion rates, and sales targets.
Facilitate the implementation of new clinical policies, procedures, and protocols to elevate customer experience and meet individual lifestyle needs--driving acquisition, retention, and performance as measured by Maze and other KPIs.
Support clinical audits to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
Collaborate with Clinical Performance Lead, Governance Support, Dispensing Support, and Area Managers to deliver a seamless and superior customer journey.
Identify and address training and development needs to enhance clinical knowledge and service delivery.
Assist in piloting and rolling out new optometric services, technologies, and processes aligned with company goals.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of CPD for Optometrists and Contact Lens Opticians.
Support training initiatives for Optical Hearing Assistants (OHAs).
Participate in the Graduate and Apprenticeship Optometrist programmes.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction, and ongoing development of Optometrists.
Clinical Practice
Lead by example in clinical excellence, consistently delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Perform all clinical duties in accordance with the professional standards expected of a GOC-registered Optometrist.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time role, comprising:
2 days per week dedicated to clinical support across the Leightons Group
* 3 days per week delivering clinical care as per rota and substantive role
