team, to become a permanent part of an iconic Cornish Business, and to make your mark in this exciting role as

Orchard Controller.



You will be responsible for providing well presented & productive orchards, grounds, farm animals and sites.

Duties & Responsibilities



Management of duties for the grounds team, in accordance with work tasks agreed with Estates Manager. Sole responsibility for orchards and their contents - maintain, renew, pest disease, storm damage, correct nutrients, spray programme, liaison with orchard consultant and complying with report, maximising yield for cost input, maintaining orchard file with reports and logbook. Supporting the Estates Manager with overall care, maintenance and upkeep of all of Tregoninny's 300 Acres including woodland management, felling, maintaining and re-planting. Responsibility for all garden/groundwork including grass cutting (tractor/lawnmower), strimming, weed control, hedges, flowerbeds and plants/shrubs, hanging baskets and tubs (seasonal). Ensuring orchards and grounds of the main farm site and Tregoninny are tidy, clear, weed free and safe. Visibly appealing to all visitors. Carrying out small building and maintenance projects as required across all company sites. Working together with the Vineyard Manager to ensure vineyards are maintained to the highest standards year-round under the Estates Managers co-ordination. Ensuring all animals are regularly fed, counted and checked in a clean state. Ensuring animals are in good health and to be available at all times to assist in their welfare. Assist with any other site duties as required. Any other activity/tasks as and when requested by the Directors.

Responsibilities in Focus



Ensure that all checklists and relevant paperwork are filled in accurately and presented on time. PPE - Ensure there is always adequate PPE in the chemical shed directly related to spray schedule. Plan and communicate spray applications with direct relation to weather windows - Report to Estates Manager before each spray. Routine Weekly inspections of Orchids, record keeping of findings of each inspection printed and filed in the designated orchid folder. Accurate Spray Records are recorded on every single spray and fertilizer application - Records to display exact dates, Quantities and chemicals / water used. Utmost Care taken when operating company machinery and adhering to site speed limits (15MPH). All tasks to be completed to an acceptable audit standard. Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests as required, prioritizing other works as directed by the Estates Manager. Have a focus on Health and Safety, setting the example to the rest of the team and adhering to accepted procedures to reduce unwanted events and accidents. Agree time frames for completion of tasks and site activities.

Work Experience

Qualification



Tractor Driver and licence Spraying Certificate PA1, PA3 & PA6 Chainsaw Certificate Horticultural Trailer Licence Telehandler Ticket

Skills
