The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
Summary of position:
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Orderbook Lead to manage the end-to-end order lifecycle for assigned programmes. Working in close collaboration with the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are accurately processed, monitored through internal systems, and delivered on time. This role also includes post-delivery responsibilities, ensuring timely receipt and payment, as well as resolution of any invoice-blocking issues.
Main responsibilities:
Own and manage the customer orderbook for assigned programmes, ensuring all requirements are met from order intake to final delivery, to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer requirements in
Input customer orders into the ERP system in accordance with contract review procedures.
Manage customer portals where applicable, ensuring orders are processed promptly and accurately.
Coordinate the intake of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) orders, resolving any documentation issues to enable product release.
Prepare MRO quotations in line with contractual pricing agreements
Assist the programme manager with costing estimations for customer RFQs (Requests for Quotation)
Collaborate with the Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager to reduce overdue payments and ensure compliance with agreed credit terms.
Serve as the first point of contact for resolving invoice-related issues due to quality or documentation discrepancies.
Escalate key issues to the Programme Manager and appropriate stakeholders to mitigate risks and avoid operational disruptions.
Support the preparation and delivery of customer orderbook and KPI review meetings alongside the Programme Manager.
Provide departmental cover during periods of absence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of three years of relevant experience
High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Office
Previous experience in orderbook Management / Account management is preferred
Previous experience in Aerospace or heavy manufacturing
Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
An analytical mindset
Being able to understand and interpret large data sets
Experience talking directly with customers and cross-functional working
APICS / CIPS will be a benefit
