The Organisation Development Coordinator supports the Students' Union to become a high-performing, modern, and student-centred organisation. The post leads and coordinates projects that enhance organisational effectiveness, digital capability, and internal readiness for change. Working across departments, the role ensures that strategic initiatives are well-planned, evidence-based, and delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management & Delivery
Coordinate and manage cross-Union projects aligned with strategic priorities (e.g., governance improvement, staff development, digital transformation).
Develop clear project plans including timelines, milestones, risk registers, and stakeholder maps.
Facilitate project meetings, track progress, and ensure key documentation is maintained.
Monitor performance against objectives and provide regular updates and reports to managers, committees, and student stakeholders.
Support a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation through structured evaluation and feedback processes.
2. Digital Development & Systems Improvement
Support the development and optimisation of the Union's digital tools and platforms (e.g., website, CRM, ticketing, membership systems, intranet).
Work with staff, student leaders, and suppliers to scope digital requirements and translate needs into actionable specifications.
Coordinate testing, roll-out, training, and communication for new digital systems or improvements.
Monitor usage and develop insights to inform digital strategy and enhance user experience.
Drive adoption of digital tools that improve collaboration, data management, and service delivery.
3. Organisational Readiness & Change Support
Support organisational change initiatives by preparing staff and student leaders for new ways of working.
Develop internal communication plans that ensure clarity, transparency, and engagement.
Deliver or coordinate training, workshops, and briefing sessions to build capability and readiness.
Maintain organisational documents, policies, templates, and guidance to strengthen consistency and quality.
Support the development and review of performance frameworks, quality standards, and processes.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Build strong working relationships across departments, student groups, and university partners.
Facilitate consultation processes that gather insight from students and staff to shape organisational decisions.
Act as a central point of coordination for organisational development activities, ensuring alignment across teams.
5. Data, Insight & Reporting
Gather and analyse data to support decision-making, using surveys, system analytics, benchmarking, and feedback.
Prepare reports for senior managers, committees, and elected officers.
Contribute to monitoring frameworks such as strategic KPIs, operational plans, and quality audits.
Person Specification
Essential
Experience coordinating or supporting projects with clear outcomes and deadlines.
Strong organisational and time-management skills; able to balance multiple priorities.
Understanding of digital tools and systems, and confidence learning new technologies.
Ability to analyse information and present findings clearly.
Strong communication skills with an ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Proactive problem-solver with an eye for process improvement.
Commitment to inclusive practice and student-centred values.
Desirable
Experience working or volunteering within a Students' Union, charity, or membership organisation.
Knowledge of change management, service design, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with digital transformation processes and CRM/content management systems.
Experience designing and delivering training or workshops.
Additional Information
The post may involve occasional evening and weekend work.
The role supports both staff and elected student leaders who may require guidance on governance, project planning, and process navigation.
