We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Care Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with school aged children and experience working with children in an out of school care. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse group of children effectively. As a Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to play and thrive.
The job is based within our Tynewater Out of School Care setting 8 hours per week Monday - Thursday 3pm - 5pm - Please note - Tynewater is based in pathhead with limited public transport options.
and also 4 hours per week within our Mayfield and Easthouses Out of School Care setting on Fridays 1pm - 5pm.
This post is 52 weeks per year, but term time only could be considered if the candidate prefers.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and supervision for children in an out of school care.
Develop and implement engaging activities, supporting children's health and wellbeing.
Manage daily routines and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm in all interactions.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress through observation.
Collaborate with team members to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all children.
Requirements
Proven experience in a childcare settings is desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their health and wellbeing.
Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the experience within the setting.
Knowledge of best practices in childcare is advantageous.
A relevant qualification in childcare is preferred but not mandatory as training can be provided.
