Job Description

We're thrilled to announce that Galloway Activity Centre is now hiring activity instructors for the 2026 season! We have a variety of roles available, catering to both experienced individuals and those new to the field. Key traits we're looking for are politeness, enthusiasm, outgoing nature, and a willingness to learn.

Our centre offers a diverse range of activities including paddle boarding, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, and climbing. This provides a fantastic opportunity to refine your skills in a dynamic environment.

Additionally, we offer a work placement scheme from May to September. This scheme has successfully propelled past graduates into management and chief instructor roles globally. It's an intense program that requires hard work, but the knowledge, experience, and confidence you'll gain will be invaluable. Upon completion, you'll receive a National Governing Body instructional qualification and a summer job offer. Join us for an exciting season ahead!

Responsibilities

:

Ensure safety and deliver high-quality activities/training.

Deliver activities within your qualifications and assist qualified staff.

Promote social development and provide excellent customer service.

Support staff training, business development, and maintain facilities.

Contribute to the development of physical resources.

Requirements

:

Passion for outdoor adventure and education.

High customer service standards and flexibility in working hours.

Ability to commute or relocate.

Enthusiasm, confidence, and a love for sharing knowledge.

Enjoyment of outdoor activities and sports.

Ideally, experience with children's groups or sports coaching.

Desirables:



Experience in delivering outdoor activities

National governing body awards, e.g. Archery GB, RYA Safety Boat, Dingy or Windsurf Instructor

Personal supporting knowledge of a broad range of outdoor and adventurous activities

Outdoor First Aid Qualification

Continuing personal participation in outdoor and adventurous activities

Experience of youth work or working with emotional, learning and behavioral difficulties

Proven ability to manage challenging situations and leadership and influencing skills

Full UK driving license with D1 or +E entitlement
