Learning Mentor
to join our team with a focus on
Careers & Next Steps
. This role is key to facilitating successful transitions for our learners and ensuring they are prepared for the next steps in their educational or career journeys.
The Learning Mentors and team will take an active role in helping children develop confidence, self-respect, and ownership for their own success.
Contract Type:
Term-time only, 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
Work with groups of 4 children aged 6-17 years of age
Work alongside a Centre & Deputy Manager, tutors, Equine Care Workers and other Learning Mentors
Support our children, with focus on the child's voice
Involve children in setting their own goals and ensuring lessons are differentiated to support each individual learner
Transport children to activity centers and supervise activities
Prepare lunches daily
Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience working with children and young people, especially those who have additional educational or emotional needs.
Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and how to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning requirements.
Experience in career guidance, preparing young people for their next steps in education, training, or employment.
A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and commitment to creating a safe, supportive environment for all learners.
Desirable:
Experience working in an Alternative Provision or similar educational setting.
Qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or related fields.
Knowledge of local college and training providers.
Experience in liaising with external agencies and building partnerships.
