Overview


We are seeking a dedicated Outdoor Practitioner for our new Alternative Provision. This is an exciting opportunity to create and develop curriculum and practice and support children 1 to 1 in a dynamic outdoor learning environment. The role involves developing and implementing tailored educational and behavioral strategies to promote child well-being, development and learning. The ideal candidate will possess a background in SEND education, behavioral health, or related fields. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people's lives through innovative outdoor activities and personalised support.

Duties



Design and facilitate outdoor educational activities aligned with individual learning plans and behavioral goals Conduct child assessments, including learning and behavioural observations Develop and implement personalised care plans to support child engagement and progress Monitor student safety during outdoor sessions, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mental health professionals, educators, and healthcare providers Maintain accurate documentation of child progress, incident reports, and care plans using electronic systems Provide emotional support and behavioral management strategies tailored to each child's needs Work as part of the larger Growing Wild team

Experience



Prior experience working in primary education and SEND Familiarity with associated supporting agencies and LA Knowledge of National Curriculum/SEND Working in outdoor education / Forest Schools is an advantage Supporting children 1 to 1
This role requires a compassionate approach combined with strong organizational skills to support children' physical and mental health effectively. The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care within an outdoor educational context while adhering to all relevant healthcare standards.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
