The Role:
We're looking for enthusiastic part-time Sports Assistants at our award-winning Ravelin Sports Centre to help keep our University of Portsmouth facilities running smoothly. You'll play a key role in delivering safe, clean, and top-quality spaces for our community to enjoy. If you've got a passion for sport, great customer service skills, and hands-on experience in sports operations -- we want to hear from you!
As part of the outdoor Sports Operations Team, working at Langstone Sports Campus you will be responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of our sports facilities at the University of Portsmouth. You will ensure that the provision of safe, clean and working facilities is available to our customers.
These roles will be required to have a sound operational outdoor sports facilities knowledge and experience of customer led, service environments.
We have two part-time, term-time positions available. Please review the working patterns to ensure the schedule aligns with your availability before applying.

Wednesday - 11:30 - 19:30 (30 min break)
Saturday - 08:00 - 13:00
Sunday - 08:00 - 13:00
17.5 hours per week
Week 2
Friday 08:15 - 14:45 (30 min break)
Sunday 08:15 - 18:15 (30 min break)
15.5 hours per week

You will be working term time (34 weeks per year) during the following weeks:
Block 1: From 18 August 2025 to 14 December 2025
Block 2: From 5 January 2026 to 12 June 2026
Block 3: From 4 May 2026 to 24 May 2026
For salary calculations you will be paid for 38.25 weeks. The difference between 38.25 and the 34 weeks worked each year covers paid annual leave entitlement and public and statutory holidays. The salary is divided into 12 equal monthly instalments
