Job Description

Are you passionate about inspiring children through outdoor adventures, whatever the weather? The Fresh Air Club is seeking an enthusiastic Outdoor Learning Instructor to join our team, delivering in-school and after-school sessions across the West Poole area, including Blandford Forum, Wimborne, Wareham, and Swanage.

About the Role



Hours:

6 hours per day, 1-3 days a week during term time (self employed contractor)

Session Times:

Monday to Friday, 9am-2pm (mix of full class groups and small nurture sessions)

Start Date:

5th January 2026 (or sooner if available)

Pay:

15.00 per hour

Location:

Poole and surrounding areas
You'll deliver engaging Bushcraft activities linked to the National Curriculum, lead wide games, and run themed days such as the Great Fire of London, Stone Age, and Vikings. Sessions are for children from Reception to Year 6, with school staff present for pastoral support. You'll be responsible for setting up before each session and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

What We're Looking For



No specific qualifications required, but Bushcraft Level 2 and/or Forest School qualifications are desirable. A love of the outdoors in all weathers Experience working with children (e.g., teaching, scouting, sports coaching, or as a parent with outdoor hobbies) Fun, enthusiastic, and reliable, with a good sense of humour Highly organised and punctual, with the ability to give notice if unavailable An existing DBS (on the update service), first aid qualification, and safeguarding certification are desirable (we can help arrange these if needed)
