Overview
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated Outreach Officer to support the delivery of its pioneering Outreach Programme, which is designed to prevent and address homelessness across the borough. This role is central to the council's proactive approach, reflecting its strong commitment to innovation, early intervention, and collaborative working. The Outreach Officer will engage closely with internal teams and build strong partnerships with external stakeholders, including voluntary and community sector organisations, to ensure a coordinated and effective response to homelessness.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Understanding of homelessness prevention, housing needs, and the challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
- Awareness of the voluntary and community sector's role in supporting homelessness prevention and related services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
- Strong facilitation and training skills to deliver effective workshops and presentations.
- Good organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to build and maintain productive partnerships across multiple agencies and sectors.
- Experience delivering training or workshops to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise workload to ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner
