Chalkline Education is expanding, and we're looking for experienced SEND Tutors in and around Telford to deliver high-quality, one-to-one tuition to learners aged 11-16.
About the Role
As a SEND Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by delivering engaging, individualised sessions that build both skills and confidence.
You'll be working with pupils who may be out of school, require additional support, or need a tailored approach to learning. Sessions are typically scheduled between 8.30am and 4.30pm, taking place either in the pupil's home, school, or an agreed public venue. Specific arrangements are confirmed in advance for each assignment.
What You'll Be Doing
Planning and Delivering Tuition
Design and deliver creative, tailored one-to-one sessions based on the pupil's needs, goals, and learning style.
Use a flexible and adaptive teaching approach to maximise engagement and progress.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring
Conduct informal assessments and observations to identify learning gaps and development areas.
Track pupil progress using our shared documentation system via Google Drive.
Set and review SMART targets with the pupil on a weekly basis

Communication and Collaboration
Build positive, supportive relationships with pupils to foster motivation and self-belief.
Maintain open communication with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a joined-up approach.
Provide regular updates and maintain accurate session records.
Resources and Reporting
Make use of a wide range of teaching resources, including internal printables and platforms such as Twinkl and BKSB.
Occasionally deliver sessions online using MS Teams or Bramble, where appropriate.
Submit weekly session reports and timesheets to support transparency and ensure client updates.
What We're Looking For
Qualified teachers, Tutors or Teaching Assistants
Knowledge and understanding of a range of SEND needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or MLD.
Ability to plan and adapt lessons creatively and effectively.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Access to your own laptop and reliable internet connection.
