What We're Looking For:
Qualified teaching professionals with one of the following:
QTS or PGCE
PTLLS, CTLLS or DTLLS
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)
Level 3 TA or HLTA certification
You'll have experience working with young people, ideally in one-to-one or small group settings, and a confident, adaptable approach to supporting varied learning needs.
What You'll Do:
As an Outreach Tutor/Mentor, you'll:
Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions in Maths, English and other core subjects
Support learners with SEND, those in care, or pupils not currently in mainstream education
Adapt your teaching style to suit the learner's pace, mood, and ability
Build positive relationships that foster trust, confidence, and progress
Deliver sessions either in person (home, school, or local venue) or occasionally online, depending on the pupil's needs
Session Details:
Sessions take place during school hours (08:30-16:30), Monday to Friday
Locations are arranged in advance and designed to be local to you whenever possible
You'll receive full briefings on each learner before you begin
Flexible scheduling to fit around your other commitments
Pay & Benefits:
Hourly rate: 26-34, depending on the assignment
Travel time over 30 minutes compensated with a higher rate
Paid weekly, with no need to register as self-employed (though you can if preferred)
Ongoing support from Chalkline staff, with clear, easy-to-use systems and resources
