Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced room Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and maintaining high standards of childcare. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in a nurturing environment, supporting early childhood development and fostering positive experiences for children and their families.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support team members during your shift, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures Oversee the daily activities of children, ensuring their safety, engagement, and developmental needs are met Coordinate with staff to plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and play sessions Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns Ensure the cleanliness, organisation, and safety of the nursery environment at all times Manage administrative tasks such as attendance records and daily reports Assist with onboarding new staff members and provide ongoing support and training as needed Handle any behavioural issues or emergencies promptly and professionally Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including child safeguarding protocols

Requirements

Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages Experience working with children, ideally in nursery or preschool environments Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive working environment Childcare qualifications L3 or above or relevant early childhood education certifications. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism
