This role will partner with UK&I Marketing teams to provide support and challenge in financial processes to enable greater granularity and reliability in financial tracking and analysis, while allowing them to focus on delivering our marketing strategies. This will also require significant interaction with other teams, such as FP&A, Financial Control, and Procurement, to maintain an excellent grasp of current and future activities and ensure accurate budget tracking and financial reporting. You will act as a trusted advisor to marketing teams, driving financial performance and efficiency in our marketing operations.
This is a new role working with new processes as such the successful candidate will need strong initiative and interpersonal skills to identify areas for improvement and to drive that change. This will also mean there is plenty of headroom for personal growth in this role.
Business Partnering
Partner with the Marketing teams to provide financial guidance and ensure adherence to policies and processes
Maintain close understanding of new and existing marketing initiatives to ensure correct financial treatment of marketing expenses
Maintain and update spend trackers and relevant documents to ensure real-time visibility of marketing spend
Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts and month-end processes for assigned cost centres considering relevant activity data, cost pressures and business developments
Collaborate with Strategy to track spend against wider marketing strategies
Liaise with Financial Control to ensure accurate accounting
Support FP&A to continuously improve the granularity and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis to aid the business decision making
Produce ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
P2P (Procurement to Pay) Support
Ensure financial best practice is being applied to all spend incurred by Marketing teams
Support marketing teams throughout the PO and invoicing processes, ensuring accurate processing and alignment with budget allocations and procurement processes.
Act as the key contact for P2P-related queries, resolving issues efficiently with internal teams
Identify and implement process efficiencies to improve P2P operations
Working with people
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide the link between teams to enable effective collaboration
Use such relationships to drive improvement in financial practices conducted by Marketing teams, by providing the necessary guidance and training
Utilising effective knowledge transfer techniques to extract useful information from sources to enhance reporting
Able to articulate issues and utilise influencing skills to propose solutions and present them to senior management
Qualifications
Experience
Part Qualified/Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA etc.), and/or strong experience in P2P, financial operations, or accounts payable roles
Experience of communication with multiple stakeholders, including non-finance users
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving industry with multiple projects and priorities
Must be able to demonstrate proactiveness and initiative to drive change
Technical skills
Data expert, who can turn numbers into a compelling business story
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
Understanding of financial processes related to purchase orders, invoicing, accruals, and reconciliations
Proficient in Excel skills
Experience in using financial reporting tools such as Oracle
Bonus skills and experience
Experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau)
Prior exposure to marketing spend management and/or the gambling industry
