Packing Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical or Multiskilled Engineer to join us as a Packing Engineer at our site in Castleford. You will join are growing and developing Engineering team. You will be reporting to the Engineering Shift Supervisor on a day-to-day basis and will be a key driver in supporting production to meet our site targets. You will be part of a team of 4 people per shift responsible for providing maintenance services to 29 packing machines and equipment such as Multipond, Blueprint, Schubert among others.

- Alternating Shift Patterns: Mon-Fri - 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm

Our mix that awaits you:

Preventative and reactive maintenance. Respond quickly to breakdowns with a right 1st time mentality. Training on equipment. Familiarization and onboarding. Work to health and safety and food standards. Fabrication work including milling and turning. Pneumatics and hydraulics.

Ingredients that you bring with you:

A minimum level 3 Mechanical or Multiskilled Apprenticeship. Practical problem-solving skills. Good communication skills. A proactive approach to maintenance and engineering. The ability to make decisions under pressure. Good IT skills. A manufacturing background with experience of case packers and vertical bagging machines is desired.

Hours of Work:

This role is 40 hours per week on an alternating shift pattern and is based at our Castleford site.
