Position Summary



Reporting to the shift coordinator, a packing technician will work as part of a team to deliver world class results. Communicating with upstream and downstream whilst resolving and escalating any issues in a timely manner. A Packing Technician will aim to produce world class products including product preparation, processing, packing, and booking away in line with supporting some warehouse duties. A Packing Technician will maintain, safety, food safety, quality and environmental standards whilst carrying out their role.

Responsibilities



Adherence to all policies and procedures at SDGI.

Adjust and evaluate machine parameters and other settings.

Ensure a tidy, clean, and safe working area.

Performing quality checks.

Performing Safety checks.

Delivering World class results.

Carrying out Product, Recipe & Size Changeovers.

Operate complex manufacturing equipment.

Communicate with Team members and supervisors about Safety & Quality concerns using correct tools available, acting upon them, and ensuring all personnel adhere to safe behaviours.

Adhering to Key Standard Routines.

Maintaining production shift log, data Capture to improve on production downtime.

Identifying machine faults and production process rate errors.

Hands on approach to returning equipment and area to basic condition, escalating faults and breakdowns using the correct tools available.

Carrying out effective Shift Handovers with other shifts.

Safety, Quality, and environmental culture

Diploma or degree in chemical/mechanical/process engineering desirable

Being able to work as a team but also self-motivated

IT Skills

Problem solving skills.

a) Must have Experience.



o Manufacturing experience in a continuous process

o Experience in working to and delivering targets.

b) Desirable Experience



o Food manufacturing in a continuous process

o FLT

o TPM Methodology

o Oils & Fats knowledge

o Scada system experience

o Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience
