We seek a Paediatric Deputy Charge Nurse who brings:Paediatric Emergency Nursing experience to share knowledge with our teamPassion for delivering excellent patient careWillingness to learn new skills, manage shifts, and lead by exampleDesire to develop line management skills with support from a Band 7 Charge NurseEffective communication and professionalismAll positions require internal rotation to night duty and pro-rata weekends/Bank Holidays.Main duties of the jobThe role of the Paediatric Deputy Charge Nurse within the Emergency Department is key to ensuring the safe care of patients attending the UCH as emergencies.When in charge, you will be responsible for ensuring the management and supervision of the nursing staff in within the ED during your shift along with the Consultant in Charge of the department.You will assist the Senior Nurse and Charge Nurses in leading the nursing staff in ensuring quality of care and meeting and sustaining performance against the Care Quality Indicators ( CQI's) for Emergency Services You will assist the Senior Nurse and Charge Nurses to ensure the educational needs of the ED are met.In the event of a major incident (MAJAX) you will be responsible for assisting in the co-ordination of the ED response.About usUniversity College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is one of the most complex NHS trusts in the UK, serving a large and diverse population.
