We are seeking a highly motivated Paediatric Nurse to join our first clinic in Golders Green.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and friendly Paediatric Nurse to join our independent outpatient clinic. This is a unique opportunity to become part of the team at Kidswell Health: a new provider of healthcare for children and young people in North London. You'll join our small, close-knit team, shaping and delivering fantastic care and with much more support and collaboration than you may be used to.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop a wide scope of practice, with training available to learn new clinical skills, and supervision and support to allow you to build a high degree of autonomous practice, centred particularly on family education and health promotion.
We provide scheduled care appointments, not unscheduledemergency or urgent care. You'll work in our beautiful, modern premises in Golders Green, with parking available nearby, and close to tube and bus stops.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to paediatric outpatients, including routine assessments, vital sign monitoring, and administering simple medications such as paracetamol and ibuprofen. We are supportive of nurse-led prescribing and/or PGD administration for qualified candidate.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including paediatric consultants and other professionals, as a valued and key member of our MDT providing comprehensive care to young patients.
? Provide emotional and play support to children and families in a friendly and reassuring manner, helping to alleviate stress during medical visits.
? Support our Reception team in helping families navigate and understand their journey through our clinic.
? Supporting colleagues with routine blood tests, and/or performing phlebotomy if and when required.
? Performing basic investigations such as urine dipstick tests, and viral swabs. Training will be provided in relevant procedures and equipment.
? Administering vaccinations, ensuring patient comfort and educating parents on the importance of immunisation.
? Support our prescribers in dispensing take-home prescriptions.
? Conduct nurse-led health-promotion consultations, monitoring parameters such as weight and head circumference, and supporting MDT colleagues in educating parents and caregivers on healthcare plans, treatments, and follow-up care.
? Maintain patient records in accordance with clinic policies and legal requirements, ensuring accurate documentation of clinical activities.
? Prepare, check and help maintain medical equipment and stock. Support routine quality control and hygiene control activities.
? Help team ensure the clinic environment is clean, safe, and well-organized, adhering to infection control standards, and helping us manage our contracted cleaning service.
? Undertake other responsibilities as requested, commensurate with the level and nature of the role.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential
? Current and valid UK NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Child).
? A current and maintained Level 3 paediatric resuscitation qualification, such PaediatricImmediate Life Support (PILS), or a commitment to achieving and maintaining one.
? At least 2 years experience in paediatric nursing, with a strong understanding of child healthcare needs for children ranging from neonates to teenagers.
- Compassion and kindness, particularly in handling anxious or frightened children and distressed families.
? Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly to children and parents in a sensitive manner.
? A passion for family satisfaction and excellent customer service, with the patience and understanding to meet the needs and requests of families, even when they might be demanding.
? Strong clinical skills, including the ability to perform nursing assessments and administer medications
? Flexibility and appetite to learn new skills and new ways of working, and to build an enhanced scope of practice, with relevant training and supervision provided. For example, we may ask the successful candidate to attend funded training in allergy skin prick testing, and then to deliver this service with the support and supervision of a paediatric allergy consultant.
? Aware of cultural differences, with the ability to understand and effectively interact with people from different backgrounds, religions, cultures and perspectives.
? Ability to work collaboratively within a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Desirable
- Skilled at providing phlebotomy for children ranging from neonates to teenagers.
