We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse preferably specialising in paediatrics to join our private care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and anatomy, with a passion for providing high-quality healthcare to children. The role is based in the family home which has been fully adapted to accommodate the child's needs and the care team. Pay rates are dependant on experience & shifts times/days/night/BH etc.
This role is crucial in ensuring the well-being of our young son and supporting our family through various medical challenges, he is an 8 year old, is an engaging, happy and sweet little boy who loves sensory stories and activities, listening to singing and relaxing in his therapy pool. He lives at home with his lovely family and attends a SEN school part-time. He has Cerebral Palsy and associated complex health care needs, including a sight and hearing impairment and can experience seizures (although currently controlled). He has a PEG/JEG in-situ for medication, fluid, and nutrition, and requires deep suctioning and VEST system. Due to his high level of needs he is dependent on others to meet all of his needs and has a dedicated team of complex care support workers providing 2:1 support round the clock.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to the child, ensuring their comfort and safety.
To manage the client's care team, and provide high quality care, supervision and support.
To assist with writing and monitoring care plans, SSOW and risk assessments.
To manage the rota.
To assist the client to live in his own home and access the wider community, providing support with health, personal, social and domestic care needs.
To oversee and ensure high standards of care provision as per the care plan and risk assessments.
To assist with expanding the client's leisure opportunities, maximising choice, independence, and quality of life while acknowledging safety issues. Implement strategies and guidelines as recommended by healthcare professionals to best manage the client's conditions.
To ensure the highest quality of interaction and perform line management duties of the support worker team.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in paediatric nursing.
assisting in organising and attendance when travelling in the UK and abroad.
Qualifications
Valid registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Proven knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to paediatric care.
Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the child and family.
Previous experience in a paediatric nursing role is preferred but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
