We require a Paediatrics Dietitian to join our friendly department of Dietitians providing the nutrition and dietetic service to Hounslow Borough.The Children's Community Dietetic team is responsible for providing highly specialist dietetic advice in a diverse range of nutritional areas. To support to a complex caseload of infants, children, young people 0-18years and their carers in a range of settings including clinics, community venues, special needs schools and in the patients' own homes.Each Dietitian is responsible for their own clinical caseload - clinical supervision is provided by the Band 7 Paediatric Dietitian. There will be 3 members of Paediatrics Dietitians in the Hounslow team.To provide training on a range of nutritional areas to health professionals and staff from other agencies.To contribute to service development, evidence-based policy and guidelines procedure development and participate in audit and research.Main duties of the jobo To manage a complex caseload within Hounslow Paediatric Community, primarily in a clinic setting including allergy, faltering growth, home enteral feeding, autism, weight management, metabolic and neurological conditions affecting child development.o To work as an independent practitioner and be responsible for managing and prioritising a clinic caseloado To undertake comprehensive dietetic assessments, including patients who have barriers to communication, using a range of methods, including interview skills, calculation of nutritional requirements and anthropometrical measurements.o To undertake nutritional counselling with children and their families/carers including:About usWest London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse healthcare providers in the UK, delivering a range of mental health and physical healthcare and community services.   • Post grad specialist courses and in-house training in paediatric specialism must be taken in first year - BDA Module 1 and 2
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council

  • Membership of British Dietetic Association (BDA)
  • Membership of the Specialist Paediatric Group of the BDA
ExperienceEssential
  • Experience of working in either acute trust or Community at Band 5 level for 1 year
