Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paint Line Operative with a proven background in powder coating to join our dynamic production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and high-quality application of powder coatings to a variety of components, ensuring all finished products meet our stringent quality standards and production deadlines. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare parts for powder coating, which may include cleaning, degreasing and masking according to specifications.
Set up and operate manual and automatic powder coating equipment (e.g., spray guns, booths) to apply powder paint with precision. Experience of automatic powder coating equipment is not essential as training can be given.
Perform in-process and final visual inspections of coated parts to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements (e.g., uniform coverage, correct colour, no defects).
Maintain and clean powder coating equipment, spray booths, according to schedules and procedures.
Ensure a clean, organised, and safe work environment by complying with company procedures and regulations.
Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety policies and procedures, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
o Minimum of 6 months of demonstrable experience as a Paint Line Operative with a strong focus on
powder coating
.
o Proven ability to set up and operate.
o Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
o Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
o A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Desirable:
o Experience with paint line automation systems.
o Knowledge of different powder coating types and their applications.
o Understanding of quality control standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
o Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
