Paint Prepper


We currently have vacancies for a proactive and qualified Paint Prepper to join our team.

Requirements:



Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a sheet metal or industrial environment. Good understanding of ISO9001 and adherence to all Wiltech Ltd policies and procedures. Ability to effectively clean, prepare, and prime steel units to a high standard. Experience with masking, filling, polishing, and colour matching techniques. Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality control and defect identification. Familiarity with paint mixing to ensure a perfect colour match. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining productivity without compromising quality. Must be able to use and maintain relevant equipment and tooling. Comfortable using personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety standards. Strong communication skills to update team leaders on progress and potential issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:



Surface Preparation:

Clean, key, and seal steel units to the highest standard in preparation for spraying.

Priming and Painting:

Apply primer and other coatings using rollers with precision to ensure smooth, even coverage.

Filler Work:

Apply filler and perform related tasks to create a perfect surface for painting.

Masking and Polishing:

Mask up areas not to be painted and polish surfaces to a high standard before applying finishes.

Colour Matching and Mixing:

Accurately match colours and mix paints to ensure consistency and a perfect finish.

Quality Control:

Inspect completed work to ensure there are no defects, ensuring the highest quality standards.

PPE Compliance:

Always wear appropriate PPE to maintain a safe working environment.

Time and Progress Reporting:

Report to the team leader on project progress and highlight any issues or delays.

Safety Standards:

Adhere to all workplace safety standards, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.

Documentation:

Ensure that timesheets are completed accurately and submitted to the team leader each week.

Overtime:

After 38 hours enhanced pay for overtime.

Hours:

Monday to Thursday - 6am till 2.30pm and Friday - 6am till 12:00.

Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work with a focus on precision and excellence.

Technical Skill:

Proficient in using a range of tools and equipment for paint preparation, including rollers, brushes, and sprayers.

Colour Expertise:

Strong understanding of colour matching and paint mixing for perfect results.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and maintain consistent standards.

Efficiency:

Capable of maintaining a high rate of productivity while ensuring the work meets quality standards.

Safety Awareness:

Thorough understanding of safety procedures and the ability to identify hazards in the work environment.

Quality Control:

Strong focus on inspecting and ensuring completed work meets required specifications.

Teamwork:

Excellent collaboration skills, working effectively with colleagues and supervisors to meet deadlines.

Time Management:

Ability to manage tasks efficiently, ensuring work is completed on schedule.

Adaptability:

Flexible and able to adjust to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
