Summary
To spray paint material & units in accordance with the Company's standards. The task demands a right first time manner to maintain the Company's high quality standards within a fast moving production environment. The role will involve the use of air assisted air less paint spraying systems. We are looking for someone to work our Afters shift (4.00pm to 2.00am) - initially on days for any training. 15% shift premium when working Afters.
Core Activities
Your day-to-day tasks include:
setting up painting equipment
sanding down and preparing the parts for spraying
selecting, matching and mixing paints
applying primer coats, main coats and finishes
carrying out quality checks
cleaning and maintaining equipment
As an experienced sprayer we are looking for someone who understands the following:
Required viscosity of different spray medias
Surface preparation ready for spraying
Fault recognition
Needs to have a keen eye for detail and high standard of work
Additional duties include assembly work.
Key Responsibilites
Personally make health and safety a priority ensuring you comply with all health and safety instructions.
Adhere to the Company's environmental policies and legal duties, specifically control of emissions, management of solvents and the recycling of waste product.
Plan your work to minimise waste of raw materials as well as working in a clean and tidy manner.
To work in accordance with Company operating procedures and guidelines.
Wear and maintain your respiratory and personal protective equipment at all times.
To read and assess production information for required specification details; working in an organised manner to ensure the task is completed efficiently, to the correct standard and within the necessary time frame.
Prepare, including masking, and apply paint to a range of fabricated metal products to a high standard.
Communicate with the Team Leader & Production Manager to ensure paint and consumable stocks are readily available as required.
To carry out basic quality control checks.
To ensure that all Company property issued for use at work is used within guidelines and maintained accordingly.
To ensure the safe operation of machinery within the area of responsibility.
To assist in other areas of production within capabilities and commensurate with level in the Company as and when required.
Essential/Preferred Experience
Proven experience in a similar role
Engineering background
Worked in a production environment
Experience of PPM (planned preventative maintenance)
Advantageous attributes
Automotive spraying experience
Knowledge of 5S methodology
