Overview

We are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our team and help maintain and improve the quality of our properties. The successful candidate will take responsibility for preparing and painting a variety of interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a high standard of finish every time. Previous experience in the construction or property maintenance sector is essential, along with excellent attention to detail and reliable communication skills. A valid driving licence is required, as travel between sites will be necessary.

This role currently offers flexible, ad-hoc hours, with a strong pipeline of painting projects already in place. For the right person, there will be an opportunity to develop the role into a full-time position and play a key part in growing the maintenance side of our business.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paint or wallpaper Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and care Decorate walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces according to project specifications and client requirements Ensure all work is completed within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality and safety Manage the organisation of tools and materials on-site for efficient workflow Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or any issues encountered Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all stages of work

Skills

Experience in painting and decorating Valid driving licence to enable travel between multiple sites as required Excellent communication skills in English for clear interaction with clients and team members Ability to interpret technical drawings or instructions accurately Organised approach to work with attention to detail to achieve flawless finishes Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if necessary Reliable team player with a professional attitude towards safety and quality standards

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: From 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 40 per week
