Painter/decorator

Glasgow, SCT, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About Us

Strachan & Kemp Facilities Services operates as the core facilities management business within the SK Group, delivering integrated hard and soft FM services to a diverse commercial client base across Scotland and the wider UK.

Over recent years, the business has evolved significantly, with continued growth in our client portfolio, expansion of our directly employed workforce, and an increased focus on self-delivery, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and structured service delivery. We have invested heavily in digital infrastructure and operate a fully integrated Simpro CAFM platform to manage PPM schedules, reactive works, and reporting.

We operate across a varied estate including commercial offices, retail, leisure, industrial, and managed properties, supporting clients through long-term maintenance contracts as well as reactive and project-based works.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Painter & Decorator to support our expanding commercial facilities services portfolio throughout the UK.

This role is primarily focused on delivering high-quality internal and external painting and decorating works within commercial, industrial, retail, and managed properties. Works will include planned preventative maintenance (PPM), cyclical redecorations, reactive repairs, and refurbishment works, often within live and occupied environments.

You will work both independently and alongside other in-house trades and operational teams, contributing to wider maintenance and project delivery where required. The role requires a professional approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to plan and manage workloads efficiently to meet programmed works and client expectations.

Occasional evening or weekend working may be required to support client operations and will be paid at the applicable overtime rates.

This is a long-term position within a growing FM business, offering stability, variety, and opportunities to further develop skills within a structured service delivery environment.

About You

You will be a qualified and experienced Painter & Decorator with a proven background in delivering high-quality work within commercial or facilities maintenance environments. You will be confident working independently, managing your own workload, and consistently achieving a high standard of finish.

You will bring a strong understanding of Health & Safety, excellent attention to detail, and a professional, customer-focused approach, particularly when working within live and occupied buildings. You will also be comfortable working alongside other trades and operational teams as part of a wider FM delivery model.
