As a Colony Painter, you will be the go-to person for all things paint-related in our network of venues. You'll carry out regular touch-ups, full repaints at end-of-tenancy, decorative finishes during refurbishments, and new-site painting. You'll ensure each Colony space looks fresh, cohesive, clean, and ready to impress, all while minimising disruption to our members.
Key Responsibilities
Be a key member of the Colony Maintenance Team
Manage and deliver paint touch-ups across venues (walls, doors, trims, skirtings, ceilings) on scheduled maintenance rounds
Lead end-of-tenancy full repaints of offices and communal areas, restoring them to a pristine, move-in-ready condition
Carry out painting requirements alongside the fit-out
ensure smooth, high-quality finishes
Select and mix appropriate paint types (emulsion, gloss, primer, specialist coatings) to match existing schemes
Coordinate with other trades (carpentry, flooring, electricians) to plan sequencing and avoid rework
Safely move furniture, protect flooring, cover surfaces, and manage dust and debris control
Maintain an inventory of paint, tools, tapes, drop cloths, etc; order or requisition supplies as needed
Keep a photographic record of before / after work, logging progress, and issues
Occasionally support general maintenance tasks as required
Ensure works are carried out on-schedule, and design vision is materialised to highest exacting standards, ensuring offices are prepared in time for new tenants
Ensure works and materials adhere to product standards and quality assurance policies and procedures
Communicate updates, reporting the status / schedule of any open projects
Contribute to internal and external team meetings as needed, providing input where required
Carry out condition surveys where necessary
Skills & Experience We're Looking For
Proven experience as a professional painter / decorator in commercial or office settings
Excellent time management skills, self directed with a high level of initiative and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Strong expertise in surface preparation, patch repairs, priming and finishing
Good eye for colour matching, detail, clean lines and consistency across large areas
High level of adaptability within a fast-paced dynamic work environment, maintain excellent attention to detail
Good organisational skills, with excellent time management skills, able to manage multiple projects / tasks across different sites
Self-motivated, reliable, conscientious, with a pride in high standards
Awareness of health & safety, safe handling of materials, correct disposal of waste, and risk assessment / method statements
Able to follow plans
