Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Paintologist to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of colour theory, painting techniques, and surface preparation.

A Paintologist accurately prepares and combines different paints, coatings, or other liquids to meet specific job requirements for color, consistency, and quantity.

Responsibilities

Mixing & Matching:

Accurately mix various paint bases, pigments, and additives to achieve the precise color, consistency, and quality specified by job requirements or customer needs.

Documentation:

Record and verify all mixed materials, including part numbers, batch numbers, mix ratios, viscosity, temperature, and any other relevant quality checks.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate stock levels for paint and related materials, conduct regular checks, and perform tasks such as loading, unloading, and stocking the paint stores.

Equipment Maintenance:

Clean, maintain, and ensure all tools, measuring equipment, and paint application equipment are properly calibrated.

Quality Control:

Conduct routine quality checks on mixed paints to ensure they meet standards for consistency and application.

Health & Safety:

Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures, ensuring the workspace remains clean and organized using methods like 5S and FIFO.

Requirements

Attention to Detail:

A meticulous eye for detail is essential for accurate mixing and colour matching.

Colour Theory Knowledge:

An understanding of color theory is necessary to achieve the correct color and consistency for each job.

Organizational Skills:

The ability to keep the paint store and mixing area tidy and organized is crucial.

Teamwork & Communication:

The ability to work effectively with other team members, technicians, and supervisors is important.

Flexibility:

A flexible attitude towards shift patterns and the ability to cover for other team members are often needed.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
