Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced despatch Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for palletizing our products, operating a fork lift, and ensuring the quality assurance of goods leaving to the customer.. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The position is paid and suitable for those who are organised, physically fit, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Handling materials efficiently and safely throughout the property. Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations Managing shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate dispatch and receipt of goods Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and stock movements Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch with attention to detail Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products Assisting with load and unload activities using appropriate equipment Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times Driving the company van to transport our goods from storage to despatch and local delivery to customers.

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics environment Proficiency in materials handling equipment, particularly forklift operation (licence preferred) Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) software Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures Mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance or troubleshooting Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail Good communication skills to work effectively within a team Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
