Job Description
We are looking for a Palliative Care Assistant to care of a gentleman with Advanced Parkinson's Disease who is requiring end of life care.
There are 20 hours per week available, days are fairly flexible (to be mutually agreed at interview level)
Hours to be covered weekdays: 6 pm till 10 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 10 am till 1 pm
There may be some overnight care required.
The care required is: all aspects of personal care, dressing, peg medication/food administration, meal preparation ie puree foods and light domestic duties. The gentleman is a wheelchair user which requires experience with hoist transfers (moving and handling).
The ideal candidate must have experience in personal care, able to drive as the gentleman has a wheelchair adapted vehicle, experience with Peg Medication administration would be an advantage, but not essential as training would be given, as this procedure is required every 2 hours.
Applicants must have access to a vehicle as the bus service in the area is very poor.
A DBS and references are required.
The rate of pay is 14.70 per hour
