Purpose of the job
Have the ability to layout equipment produce basic wiring, working to company process standards and operating procedures in one of either Bench Assembly, LV or MV switchgear.

Key accountabilities

  • Can read electrical schematic drawings, G/A's, CDR's, D&P drawings and identify components.
  • Proficient in using all hand tools.
  • Can layout and wire all standard DOL chassis or LV, MV panels with minimal guidance.
  • Create Screen and Ethernet Cable.
  • Ability to problem solve on all new tasks. Can suggest solutions to issues and work with others to resolve.
  • Have the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively.
  • Have the ability to practice good housekeeping at all times and organise the work area effectively.
  • Produce basic wiring in a uniformed manner.
  • Work to clear instruction.
  • Work to process standards and operating procedures and take pride in own work.
  • Capable of highlighting potential issues and suggesting rational corrective/preventative actions.
  • Capable and willing to transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues when requested.
  • Responsible for achieving required output including productivity, quality and agreed targets.
  • Operate and have control of Kanban and consumable stock levels.
Communications
The function is a feeder cell based in Panel assembly but will have demand placed on its resource by all manufacturing areas. Good communication will be vital to the effective and efficient running of the area.
Effective and regular communication between departments and their members and internal customers is crucial and in particular:
  • Team leader and team members.
  • Engineering - LV/MV
  • Quality, Health & Safety.

Employment & Educational Background
  • The candidate should have at least 12 months experience as a Panel Wirer
  • The candidate ideally has previously worked in a manufacturing environment
