to join our Injury Team, which handles a diverse caseload of
Civil Injury and Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) claims
. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on legal matters, support experienced solicitors, and develop expertise in personal injury law.
The role would suit an individual with a legal career in mind, whatever the level of qualification and preferred route. We have paralegals from degree backgrounds and candidates from other routes such as Solicitor apprenticeships and the SQE are also welcomed.
Key Responsibilities
Making and taking calls from clients and potential clients.
Assisting solicitors with case preparation, legal research, and drafting legal documents.
Liaising with clients, medical professionals, insurers, and third parties to gather and review evidence.
Preparing witness statements, court bundles, and other key documentation.
Conducting legal research to support ongoing cases and advising solicitors accordingly.
Assisting in the review and assessment of records and documents.
Drafting correspondence and legal documents, including letters of claim, schedules of loss, and instructions to counsel.
Assisting with court hearings, client meetings, and settlement negotiations where required.
Ensuring compliance with firm policies, industry regulations, and professional conduct standards.
Maintaining accurate case files and updating internal case management systems.
Skills & Experience Required
A law degree (LLB), or equivalent legal qualification is an advantage, but not essential.
Candidates from a background of A-levels or other College qualifications would be considered.
Previous experience in personal injury, civil litigation, or CICA claims is desirable, but not essential.
Some knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and CICA scheme would be beneficial.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
Strong client care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Problem solving abilities
