Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function - Barratt Partnerships.
While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don't: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You'll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.
You will be responsible for supporting the Regulatory Construction and Disputes (RCD) team, including supporting the RCD lawyers with administrative tasks, case management duties and general team responsibilities.
You will be expected to: Provide general support to the RCD team on a wide range of matters but predominantly those of a disputed nature involving civil proceedings, summons, adjudications, arbitrations, mediation and building safety.
Ensure RCD performance data is accurately captured and supporting the preparation of RCD performance reports to the Board and the Executive.
Assist and support the RCD team with caseload management such as managing deadlines, reporting obligations and preparing legal letters and documents.
Assist with court proceedings - preparing bundles and ensuring efficient and accurate filing/submission of documents, as well as tracking timelines, assisting with instructions and reviewing evidence. You are also likely to attend hearings and inquiries, assisting the team on all matters and taking a note.
Undertake legal research on a variety of matters and communicate research findings to the RCD team in a clear and comprehensive manner.
Take instructions from the RCD team, Divisional colleages and wider stakeholders.
Provide general administrative support across the RCD team including photocopying, scanning, filing and populating the case management system.
Comply at all times with company policies, procedures and instructions.
Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation's goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.
These are illustrative duties and the job holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to enable the department to respond effectively to the requirements of the business.

Legal research skills and preparing legal documents
Office administration support
Excellent spoken and written English
An understanding of IT systems and security
Shows a high regard and respect for company culture and values
Ability to identify potential problems and provide suggestions for improvement where appropriate
Willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the Regulatory, Construction & Disputes Team and the wider Group Legal & Compliance function
