As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Paralegal (Commercial & Dispute Resolution) to strengthen our commercial function, focusing on warranty claims, refund disputes, chargebacks and other payment disputes.
The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious paralegal to gain wide-ranging in-house legal experience. You will be involved in dispute resolution, contract work, and regulatory compliance, supporting the business in protecting its commercial interests. The role offers exposure to both day-to-day casework and more complex legal matters, providing valuable development in a fast-paced commercial environment.
This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with managing warranty claims, refund disputes, and payment disputes.
Draft, review, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
Maintain accurate case files, evidence, and legal documentation.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, external solicitors, and regulatory bodies (including Trading Standards).
Support in preparing disclosure, trial bundles, and case summaries.
Gather statements, evidence, and witness information for use in disputes and proceedings.
Prepare reports and assist with risk assessments for management.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of company terms & conditions, policies, and dispute processes.
Utilise technology effectively to manage documents and streamline workflows.
Skills
Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other IT applications.
Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
Exceptional organisational skills to maintain orderly case files and documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Attention to detail is essential for ensuring accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
About You
We are looking for a motivated, detail-focused individual who is eager to develop their career in commercial law setting and thrive in an in-house environment.
Essential:
Law degree, LPC, SQE, or equivalent qualification/experience.
Strong knowledge of UK consumer and contract law.
Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to handle a varied caseload with accuracy and professionalism.
Desirable:
Previous experience in dispute resolution, commercial contracts, or litigation support.
In-house experience within retail, e-commerce, or distribution sectors.
