Judge & Priestley are now recruiting for an Paralegal to join our Commercial Litigation Team.

The Debt Recovery division is the biggest department at J&P. Our highly respected Debt Recovery Litigation team is ranked in the Top Tier of the Legal 500 and deals with a wide range of commercial and consumer debt recovery matters, including complex commercial disputes and insolvency issues. It has also pioneered original services and solutions for the public sector. The team take pride in working in partnership with their clients, not just as solicitors, but also as trusted commercial advisors.

Key Responsibilities

As a paralegal in the team, you will be working with solicitors and partners to support their activities. From an early stage, you will be encouraged, under supervision, to take on direct client contact and work on live matters as part of your training and progression.

You should be a bright enthusiastic candidate with proven academic aptitude and have the genuine desire and talent for a career in law. As an able and committed team player you should enjoy legal research and be committed to taking the lead on enhancing your knowledge to ensure you have a strong understanding of the law. You also have a practical problem-solving approach to your work and the ability to think creatively whilst working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Have at least 6 months experience within Litigation Completed the Legal Practise Course and have a keen interest in Litigation Completed either a qualifying law degree minimum 2:1 or non law degree, minimum grade 2:1 along with GDL graded at commendation or above Strong verbal and written communication skills

You will receive an additional day's holiday after every two years of service to a total maximum of 30 days.

Legal Fees

After one years' service, you will be entitled to a contribution towards legal fees. The rules to this can be found in the staff handbook.
