Geldards LLP is a leading regional law firm with offices in Cardiff, Derby, Nottingham and London. We are currently recruiting for a paralegal to join our Commercial Property team within our Midlands offices. You will be expected to work flexibly across both our Derby and Nottingham offices.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for you to work alongside Solicitors to provide legal advice and guidance to commercial clients in an effective and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities





To assist the Midlands team in delivering high quality legal advice and guidance to clients in a range of Commercial Property matters in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with professional standards and Firm's requirements. Manage client matters effectively and in accordance with the firm's procedures and standards with appropriate supervision Deal courteously and promptly with any instructions or queries arising. Prepare terms of engagement with appropriate supervision Obtain and check Land Registry documents and title documents Prepare and check legal documents with appropriate supervision. Set up and manage project data rooms Comply with the firm's internal processes on time recording, billing, credit control and compliance. Achieve any individual financial cost targets Develop and maintain good client relationships Engage in business development and identify appropriate opportunities to sell the services of the firm to existing and new clients. Demonstrate a level of knowledge and skill corresponding with experience. Travel between offices and to external meetings when necessary. Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role and to achieve the competencies set out in the commercial property trainee/paralegal plan


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





A law degree or other relevant qualification, which may include experience of working in a legal role. Experience of working in a customer/client facing role either over the phone or face to face. Proactive and hard working. Must be computer literate. Ability to prioritise, meet strict deadlines and work under pressure. High attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Must be able to work as part of a team as well as to use own initiative. Project a professional image at all times.

In return you will have the opportunity to develop your career within our high ranked Commercial Property team based in our Midlands (Derby and Nottingham) office and will be paid a competitive salary (dependent on experience) as well as qualifying for other benefits such as a day of for your birthday and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
