As we continue to grow and expand our Legal Team, we are seeking a talented Paralegal - Land Rights Coordinator to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
The position reports into the Land Rights Manager with the potential for the role to develop significantly as the Company evolves.
Role:
You are responsible for obtaining the required consents to enable projects to be energised. You are responsible for managing external contractors to obtain the required consents.
Key Responsibilities:
As our Land Rights / Consents Coordinator, you are responsible for the delivery of consents to enable our new IDNO electricity networks.
You co-ordinate the land rights and consents process, taking responsibility for the processes and managing a significant number of on-going land rights matters. This includes liaising with external contractors in relation to your on-going matters and reporting into Land Rights Manager on the status of your matters. Consents will range from projects such as EV up to 132kV projects.
In this role, you are responsible for:
Co-ordinating the process for the acquisition of land and land rights, environmental and planning consents required for utility projects.
Securing of Land Rights: Identify the need for easements, wayleaves, and other necessary land rights with landowners and third parties and co-ordinate the negotiation of heads of terms and land rights documents. Ensure all land rights are secured in a timely manner to facilitate the installation and operation of sites.
Project Co-ordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including external IDNO/DNO partners to oversee the end-to-end delivery of EV charge point projects, ensuring timely implementation, budget adherence, and alignment with client objectives.
Issue Resolution: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and collaboratively. You may be required to attend meetings with perspective Landowners.
Land Registry: You will be responsible for raising land enquiries and have good experience using the land registry platforms to secure accurate information and raising land enquiries to proceed with consents.
Reporting: Generate regular reports and updates for clients and internal stakeholders, highlighting project progress, key performance indicators,
and areas for improvement. You will be involved in weekly update meetings whereby reports and necessary updates will be shared.
Supporting the Asset Management team to ensure compliance with all network operations requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
1-3 years of experience in co-ordinating land rights and property transactions preferably in an in-house legal team within the energy or utilities sector.
Experience in liaising with senior individuals across a business and escalating matters appropriately within a business.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and problem-solving approach to work.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

City of London, ability to work on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office, 2 days from home).
Note: this role requires office attendance at least three times a week in the Aurora London Office.
Salary:
30,000-40,000 depending on experience
