The Company

Our client is the most trusted cross-commodity price reporting agency (PRA) in the agriculture, forest products, metals and mining, and new generation energy markets.

Their price data, forecasts, and market analyses give their customers a strategic advantage in complex, volatile and often opaque markets.

The Role

To support the Legal, Risk and Compliance function on a range of tasks and projects.

The role requires someone who sees themselves as a business partner to the team, who will enjoy being challenged and seeing their contribution making a difference to the operation of the department and the wider business. This role will appeal to a pro-active candidate who is looking to develop their skills in project management and who enjoys using their initiative and providing hands-on support with a varied and interesting workload.

They are looking for someone with a can-do approach, who is flexible, good at prioritising and able to run with whatever tasks come their way. Our client requires somebody that takes personal responsibility for the work they are given and pride in seeing it to its completion.

The Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the team to implement new legal, risk and compliance processes and assisting with the provision of first line support to the business on day to day queries
  • Assisting the team on ad hoc projects, including assisting with due diligence, collating information and liaising with the business units to ensure all members of the project team are aligned
  • Producing first drafts of documents, templates, guidance notes and presentations
  • Undertaking legal research tasks for the team
  • Managing the team\'s intranet pages, ensuring the pages are accurate and up to date
  • Working closely with the General Counsel, assisting with preparation of Board and Committee packs and assisting with the management of the group\'s subsidiaries
  • Managing the administration of the LRC function
  • Processing invoices and expenses on our payment system and following up on invoicing queries
  • Organising team meetings and offsites as required
  • Managing the administration for new starters and leavers in the team
The Requirements
  • Good interpersonal skills: honesty, integrity, patience and ability to build relationships with the team and others in the business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective time management, prioritisation skills, ability to manage multiple workstreams and to remain calm under pressure
  • Enthusiastic, positive approach to work, thrives on taking on new challenges while understanding the importance of completing day to day tasks
  • A pro-active approach, anticipating the needs of the team, not just responding to them
  • Able to work confidently and autonomously where required, while recognising when to ask for direction
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (particularly MS Word, Excel)
  • Previous Paralegal experience ideally in a legal team/environment or other professional services background
  • Although not a requirement, any company secretarial skills and/or qualifications would be helpful
