The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. This role offers a balance between remote work and time spent in our Canary Wharf office. As a Paralegal at Penerley Solicitors, you will play a vital role in supporting our legal team with daily casework, document preparation, client communication, and legal research.
Key Responsibilities
Review and respond to inquiries from potential new clients, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
Draft initial letters, legal documents, contracts, agreements, and pleadings under the guidance of solicitors.
Conduct thorough legal research and summarise findings to support case preparation.
Manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure that important dates are added to the solicitor's calendar.
Prepare and send invoices to clients, along with client care sheets and terms of business.
Organise and maintain legal documents, including the preparation of trial bundles and exhibits.
Assist in the drafting of witness statements, affidavits, and other court-related documents.
Facilitate client onboarding, ensuring that all necessary AML checks are completed at the outset.
Act as a point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on case progress.
Schedule and set up consultations and meetings and manage general administrative tasks.
File documents with the court and liaise with court staff as required.
Stay updated on changes in the law and participate in training sessions and legal seminars.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a paralegal in a legal firm.
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
Proven ability to draft and manage legal documentation with precision.
Solid research skills and the ability to summarise findings clearly.
High level of proficiency in reviewing legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.
Experience using legal case management software, ideally Clio.

Work Arrangement
After the first three months, there will be an option to possibly transition to a full-time remote working arrangement. This will depend on the needs of the business and the capabilities of the individual. Occasional attendance at the office may still be required for meetings and other responsibilities.
