Our Major Injury and Casualty team at DWF and are currently hiring for a Paralegal.



The Major Injury and Casualty team act for a large number of insurers, many of whom are household names, dealing with complex, catastrophic and large loss claims. The team handle a range of files including Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters.



The role is hybrid, and the successful individual will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in our Birmingham office.


Responsibilities:
To action cases in line with the department's and client's service standards and protocols To act as a trusted member within the team, taking responsibility and ensuring the case management system is kept up to date with court orders, reviewing confidential records, and liaising with clients Dealing with technical aspects of the cases, under the supervision of more senior team members Progression cases to a satisfactory and speedy settlement in accordance with the client requirements


What will help you succeed in this role? :

Essential

A real interest and previous experience in Employers Liability, Public Liability and catastrophic injury work The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, whilst working to strict deadlines Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to quickly and carefully analyse files and sensitive data Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills Relevant Legal qualifications e.g. LLB, LLM, LPC

Desirable

Experience handling a defendant caseload Previous knowledge of working with Visual Files case management system Demonstrable knowledge of the importance and use of Management Information
