The Major Injury and Casualty team at DWF and are currently hiring for a Paralegal to join their Casualty team in Manchester.



The Major Injury and Casualty Team are nationally recognised and one of the largest in the UK. We act for a number of well-known insurer clients and provide high quality advice on a wide range of matters that are of significant value, resulting in an interesting and rewarding set of cases for you to work on.



The team handle a range of files including Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters, Occupational Health and Disease.



The role is hybrid, and the successful individual will be expected to work 1-2 days per week from the Manchester office.


Responsibilities:
To assist more senior team members on a varied defendant Casualty caseload Drafting court documents, attending court hearings, working to court deadlines Conducting liability investigations, gathering evidence, preparing advice to clients, identifying medical experts and preparing instructions Reviewing medical records and other case related documents General day to day administration tasks including keeping the case management system up to date and in line with client service level requirements Providing the highest level of client care at all times

What will help you succeed in this role? :

Essential

Strong academics including a law degree, LPC, or equivalent legal qualification Previous experience handling in your own right or supporting a senior team member with a litigated, defendant Casualty caseload including EL/PL, Occupational Health or Disease The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, whilst working to strict deadlines Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to quickly and carefully analyse files and sensitive data Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills
