Our Catastrophic Personal Injury team at DWF, Manchester are currently hiring for a Paralegal.



The Catastrophic Injury team is one of the largest in the UK and is recognised nationally. Our 30+ strong Manchester team acts for household name insurer clients on high value, complex personal injury claims . The team's expertise covers Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) and Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters although expertise in all of those sub-specialisms is not necessarily a pre-requisite for the role


Responsibilities:
To action cases in line with the department's and client's service standards and protocols. To act as a trusted member within the team, taking responsibility and ensuring the case management system is kept up to date with court orders, and liaising with clients. Conduct thorough investigations into liability and damages, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with experts. Progression of cases to a satisfactory and speedy settlement per the client's requirements. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices, maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.

What will help you succeed in this role? :

12 - 18 months previous experience in a legal environment YOU MUST DEMONSTRATE A CLEAR INTEREST IN CATASTROPHIC LOSS - either via University modules or work experience Previous experience running a litigated major injury/ large loss case load preferably RTA/ EL/ PL A law degree

Desirable



Basic to intermediate IT and keyboard skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and database programmes such as Lexis Library, Lawtel, Westlaw and Practical Law for carrying out legal research. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility, willingness to learn on the job and to participate in learning and development opportunities. Attention to detail.
