Gordon Hoffman Solicitors is an SRA regulated law firm specialising in Banking Fraud and Scam Investment claims. We are committed to providing outstanding legal service while also supporting the professional development of our legal staff.

We are currently looking for a Paralegal with strong administrative and legal casework experience to join our team in our Salford Quays office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking career progression in the legal sector and working towards future qualification.

Full training is provided, so prior experience isn't essential. However, experience in drafting letters of claim, complaint letters, or FOS submissions is highly beneficial.

About the Role



This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated paralegal or legal caseworker to work on complex banking fraud and financial mis-selling claims. This role goes far beyond standard legal administration - you will be trusted with real casework responsibility, handling matters from initial instruction through to resolution while working closely with solicitors and specialist fraud practitioners.

You will gradually build and manage your own caseload under supervision, communicating with clients daily, drafting complaints and letters of claim, gathering evidence, and preparing submissions to financial institutions and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

The role offers substantive exposure to solicitor-level competencies, making it ideal for candidates pursuing the SQE route. The firm may be able to provide Confirmation of Supervision (COS) to support your Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).

Key Responsibilities



Manage and progress a caseload of banking fraud and financial claim files under solicitor supervision Handle matters end-to-end, including drafting letters of claim, complaint letters and FOS referrals Communicate effectively with clients via telephone and calls to gather information, provide updates, and maintain strong client relationships Assist solicitors and fraud specialists with legal research, evidence collation, and case strategy development Carry out general case administration, including obtaining DSARs on behalf of clients, chasing clients and banks for information, and maintaining accurate case records Maintain accurate file management while ensuring compliance with SRA standards Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and compliance updates Provide general casework and administrative support where needed

Requirements



Experience in a law firm or legal environment preferred (not essential) Strong administrative and organisational skills Ability to manage or assist with a caseload Excellent written and verbal communication skills Competence with Microsoft Office and case management systems Genuine interest in financial services, consumer protection, fraud investigations, or litigation Interest in progressing toward SQE or other legal qualification pathways

Desirable



Experience drafting letters of claim, complaint letters, or FOS submissions Exposure to banking, finance, fraud, or dispute resolution work Understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and regulatory compliance Interest in gaining COS - confirmed QWE

What We Offer



Salary: 28,000 - 30,000 per year (DOE) Exposure to legal work aligned with the SRA Statement of Solicitor Competence Supervision by a qualified solicitor (England & Wales practising certificate) Support with career development and SQE pathway where applicable Free on-site parking Office next to tram stop - easy public transport links
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, short day on Friday

Holidays: 28 days, including public holidays, plus an extra 10 days of company holidays
