We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join our emergency medical services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced pre-hospital care to patients in urgent situations, ensuring their safety and stabilisation during transportation to healthcare facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Duties
Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess the patient's condition upon arrival
Provide advanced life support including airway management, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration
Perform physical examinations and gather vital signs to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses
Administer injections and medications following established protocols
Utilise medical terminology accurately for documentation and communication with healthcare professionals
Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection
Conduct triage assessments to prioritise patient care based on urgency
Drive emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
Assist with heavy lifting and manoeuvring of patients onto stretchers or into ambulances
Monitor patient status continuously during transport, providing critical care as needed
Complete detailed reports on patient condition, treatment provided, and incident circumstances for medical records
Requirements
Valid registration as a Paramedic with relevant professional bodies
Proven experience in patient care within emergency or hospital settings, including critical care experience preferred
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
Experience administering injections, medication management, and performing physical examinations
Proficiency in triage procedures and critical decision-making skills under pressure
Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely; driving licence essential
Physical fitness capable of heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving in emergency environments
Knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, team members, and hospital staff
