ProMedical is seeking an experienced Senior Paramedic / Paramedic Practitioner to join our client's Urgent Treatment Centre in Portsmouth. This is an agency ongoing role offering competitive rates and flexible shift patterns. You will be part of a dynamic clinical team responsible for delivering high-quality urgent care, managing patients with minor injuries and illnesses, and ensuring timely and appropriate care pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct top-to-toe health assessments and manage patients presenting with minor illnesses and major injuries. Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a range of conditions, including the ability to request X-rays and interpret results. Perform wound care, including suturing, suture/staple removal, and other minor procedures. Administer medications via IM and SC injections. Work under Patient Group Directions (PGDs), with Non-Medical Prescribing qualifications desirable but not essential. Use SystmOne or Rio patient record systems to document care, requiring an NHS Smartcard. Support in the early identification of sepsis and escalate as needed. Undertake phlebotomy/venepuncture and work within IRMER regulations. Provide effective care in line with national and local protocols.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

Completion of the Top-to-Toe Health Assessment Needs Module. Minor Illness and Major Injuries module. Non-Medical Prescribing (desirable) with an expectation to work under PGDs. Competency in suturing and suture/staple removal. Trained in IRMER/Red Dot and general wound care. Ability to administer medications via IM/SC injections. Experience in using SystmOne or Rio patient record systems, with an NHS Smartcard. Sepsis training. Phlebotomy/venepuncture skills (desirable). IRMER Certification is essential.

Additional Information:

This role requires flexibility in shift patterns, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Shifts are offered on an ongoing basis, with hours varying between daytime, evening, and overnight shifts.
