Job Details
The primary function of the team is to undertake enforcement activities to ensure compliance with the relevant traffic regulation orders. This includes successful monitoring and enforcement of charged parking areas, parking restrictions and residents' zones in accordance with decriminalised parking enforcement (DPE) powers.
This role involves day to day enforcement of parking restrictions both on-street and within car parks throughout Fife. Duties include:
monitoring driver behaviour
checking and reporting on road markings, signing and car park condition
checks and minor maintenance to parking equipment
issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles which are parked in contravention of TROs
being a front-line point of contact for Fife Council to assist the public while out on patrol
travelling throughout Fife and walking various routes, up to several miles each day
an element of lone working is a required part of the role
Shifts are 5 days over 7 days each week, with the earliest shift starting at 7am and the latest ending at 7pm. The role is primarily based at Bankhead, Glenrothes where each shift will start and end, however the day will be spent travelling and patrolling throughout Fife.
Any unsociable hours worked are paid as an enhancement over and above the standard salary.

The Person
We are looking for someone who is experienced in a front facing role in a customer focused environment. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and a positive approach to customer service, allowing you to effectively resolve conflict while remaining professional and polite.
You should be able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating your initiative while working on your own. Strong team working skills are also required to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach in delivery of the service.
Experience within the parking or transport industry, alongside a knowledge of regulations and legislation relating to parking enforcement, is desirable.
